First, I want to say this:
Christian (sales) - 5 stars. Outstanding sales rep, great to work with, very polite, honest, and personable.
Mark (sales manager) - 5 stars. Again, great to work with and very clear and transparent.
Jay (finance/business manager) - 0 stars. Very unprofessional, pushy, dishonest, and condescending.
Service Dept - 5 stars. Very helpful in setting up our first service appt and very nice and professional.
Overall, I give this dealership 4 stars because they are very good, just have a bad apple in the batch. See below for details.
Working with Mark and Christian was phenomenal. They weren’t pushy with my wife as she worked this deal through. Usually I’m the one having to do it but I didn’t have the time.
I can’t say enough good things about Christian. He is awesome and fantastic to work with. He was so nice and kind. He kept us in the loop. He was phenomenal to work with and we will definitely try to purchase our next vehicle through him (hopefully a Tundra for me).
Jay, the business manager, was a different story. I don’t know if this is just how he is or if he was intentionally being rude, but he was awful to work with. He came out telling us that unless we finance through the dealership’s bank, we can’t leave with the car. He said we can finance through the dealership then refinance with our bank. It made no sense cause I just wrote a $15,000 personal check, which isn’t any good until the money shows up. Checks can take 3-5 business days to clear. When I was mulling that option over he says to me “it’s called refinancing”, like I didn’t know what it was. I tried calling our bank and they said do what you want but we have to start a new loan application, the rate could change, etc. so we opted to stay with our bank and just that process in general is cumbersome. I am questioning if this is this truly the policy, or was this a tactic just to get us to finance. I totally get the business side of things, and the dealerships need to make money and have arrangements with the bank, but then we ended up being able to take the car anyways, same day, I felt I was being lied to.
Jay also kept give me different rate numbers that started with matching our banks rate and slowly got higher and higher. Again, I felt like I was being lied to. When we went to the office to do the paperwork, he didn’t offer a seat to me (there were 3 of us, and two chairs had paperwork on them), I had to ask and hand the stuff to him. Normally I wouldn’t have thought much of it but the way he acted the whole time was just rude, unprofessional, and not customer service friendly at all. There was no handshake, maybe got a congrats and sent on our way. He came off as sneaky and angry when we wouldn’t purchase any of the extra add ons or finance through the dealership’s bank.
Again, I can’t say enough good things about Christian. He was excellent. And he was so helpful getting us set up with our daughter, and showed us the play room. He also got us set up with the service department after we finished all the paperwork, and showed us around the car and how everything works once everything was all said and done. Honestly, I will come back just to work with him. I just hope something is done to address Jay and his poor attitude.
I recommend this dealership to people for their sales and service departments, but beware of Jay of the finance department. If you are easily persuaded or pressured then you might want to consider going elsewhere.
